Who is Tamar?

Tamar is not a goddess; rather, it is the name of several historical figures, including a queen who played a significant role in the history of Georgia, a country in the Caucasus region. Queen Tamar, or Tamar the Great, ruled the Kingdom of Georgia from 1184 to 1213. She was one of the most powerful and successful monarchs in Georgian history.

Queen Tamar was the daughter of King George III and ascended to the throne at a time of political turmoil. Under her reign, Georgia experienced a period of stability and cultural flourishing. Tamar is often credited with strengthening the kingdom's political and military position, as well as fostering the development of art, literature, and education. Her rule is considered a golden age in Georgian history.

It's worth noting that the name "Tamar" has historical and cultural significance in the region, and its association with the queen has contributed to its enduring popularity in Georgia.
